  • DEST – Module II of Section III of Paper-I will include conducting a Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) for 15 minutes in Session II on the same day.
  • The “Data Entry Speed Test” (DEST) Skill Test will be conducted for a passage of about 2000 (two thousand) key depressions for 15 (fifteen) minutes. Detailed instructions regarding the Skill Test will be provided by the Regional Offices of the Commission.
  • Candidates are required to type 2000 words in 15 minutes on a computer in English. This test is conducted to check a candidate’s typing skills. Candidates are given an article in English which they have to type on the Computer. For the post of Tax Assistant (Central Excise and Income Tax), the DEST Exam through the SSC CGL 2022 exam is conducted to check the typing speed of the candidate.
  • DEST will be mandatory for all posts. however, it will be qualifying in nature.

  • Tier 1 exam is mandatory for all types of posts given in CGL, and this will be qualifying. The marks of this exam will not be calculated in the final merit list.
  • In the Tier 2 exam, paper 1 is mandatory for all types of posts, whether paper 2 is compulsory for JSO (Junior Statistical Officer posts), and paper 3 is mandatory for those candidates who are going to apply for AAO (Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Account Officer).
  • There is a 0.5 negative mark for each wrong answer in the CGL Tier 1 exam.
  • In Tier 2, there is 1 negative mark for each wrong answer for paper 1, paper 2, and paper 3.
