SSC CHSL Syllabus

The SSC CHSL Tier 1 Syllabus 2024 comprises multiple-choice questions, whereas the SSC CHSL Tier 2 Syllabus 2024 will include the following three sections having two modules each. SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2024 for Tier 1 and 2

The SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2024 is divided into two phases which are commonly known as Tier I and Tier II. Tier 1 and Tier 2 of the SSC CHSL 2024 are conducted online. The SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam is qualifying in nature whereas final selection is based on the SSC CHSL Tier 2 Exam.  SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2024 is explained in the table below. The subjects included in both Prelims and Mains are same which are- General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language. Although the level of difficulty of the questions vary.

SSC CHSL Syllabus 2024 Tier 1

SSC CHSL Syllabus 2024 Tier 1 comprises 100 questions in total with a maximum mark of 200. SSC CHSL Tier 1 is of 60 minutes. SSC CHSL Tier I is divided into four sections with 25 questions each and a maximum mark of 50. All candidates must stay updated about the latest changes in the SSC CHSL syllabus and exam pattern to prepare thoroughly for SSC CHSL 2024.

Module II of Section II (General Awareness)

This is to check the general awareness of the candidates regarding their surrounding environment and what’s happening in the world around them. And, also to check the observation regarding the matters of day-to-day observation.

Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I (Computer Proficiency)

  • Computer Basics: Organization of a computer, Central Processing Unit (CPU), Input/ Output devices, computer memory, memory organization, backup devices, PORTs, Windows Explorer. Keyboard shortcuts.
  • Software: Windows Operating system including basics of Microsoft Office like MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint, etc.
  • Working with the Internet and e-mails: Web Browsing & Searching, Downloading & Uploading, Managing an E-mail Account, e-banking
  • Basics of networking and cyber security: Networking devices and protocols, Network and information security threats (like hacking, viruses, worms, Trojans, etc.), and preventive measures.

Skill Test for the Post of Data Entry Operator:

In this test, a candidate should have a data entry speed of 8,000 (eight thousand) Key Impressions per hour.

The duration of the Test is 15 minutes and an English document having about 2000-2200 strokes/key depressions is given to type.

Skill Test for the Post of DEO in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG):

The ‘speed of 15000 key depressions per hour will be adjudged based on the correct entry of words/key depressions as per the given passage.

The duration of the test will be 15 minutes and printed matter in English containing about 3700-4000 key depressions would be given to each candidate who would enter the same in the test computer.

Skill test for the post of Lower Division Clerk/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (LDS/JSA) and Postal Assistants/ Sorting Assistants (PA/SA):

The speed of 10,500 key depressions per hour will be adjudged based on the correct entry of words/key depressions as per the given passage.

The duration of the test will be for 15 minutes and printed matter in English containing about 9000 key depressions/hour will be given to each candidate who will enter the same in the test computer.
