Sainik School Admission 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2026 for admission to Class VI and Class IX in 33 Sainik Schools across India for the academic year 2026–2027.

Sainik Schools, managed by the Sainik Schools Society under the Ministry of Defence, are English-medium residential institutions affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). These schools aim to prepare young cadets for entry into the National Defence Academy (NDA), Indian Naval Academy, and other prestigious defence training institutes.

Eligibility Criteria for AISSEE 2026

For Class VI Admission:

  • The student must be between 10 and 12 years of age as of 31 March 2026.
    (Born between 1 April 2014 and 31 March 2016, inclusive.)

  • Girls are eligible for admission to Class VI.

For Class IX Admission:

  • The student must be between 13 and 15 years of age as of 31 March 2026.
    (Born between 1 April 2011 and 31 March 2013, inclusive.)

  • The candidate must have passed Class VIII from a recognized school.

  • Girls may also apply, subject to seat availability.

  3. A new page will open – fill in all required details carefully.

  4. Pay the application fee according to your category.

  5. Submit the form and take a printout for reference.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

  • Candidates must score at least 25% in each subject and 40% in aggregate to qualify.

  • SC/ST candidates are exempted from the minimum mark requirement and will be considered on inter-se merit within their category.

  • Admissions are finalized through e-counselling, medical examination, and document verification.

  • If a reserved category candidate qualifies under general merit, they will be considered under the general category, not under reserved seats.
