Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission Criteria

Kendriya Vidyalaya offers admission for classes 1st through 12th. It is primarily for children of transferable Central Government employees including defense and para-military personnel.

Age Criteria for Admission

Before applying, ensure that the child fulfills the age criteria. For admission in Class 1, the child should be a minimum of 5 years old as of the last date of the academic year. The minimum and maximum age criteria for each class are provided below:

Rules for Admission

• Registration is conducted online through the official website.
• Registration forms are provided by the Principal free of cost.
• Documents required for admission in Class 1 include a birth certificate. For other classes, the date of birth recorded in the transfer certificate issued by a recognized school is accepted.
• Seats are reserved for SC and ST categories. The number of reserved seats may be adjusted based on the number of SC/ST children admitted under the RTE quota.

Important Points

• Parents can register two children for admission in the same school.
• If a seat is vacant, an applicant can fill the form for admission in a 2nd KV.
• Applicants can edit mistakes in the form before the last date.
• Children of Sangh Parivar are given preference for admission.
