Educational Qualification

  • Flying Branch: Graduation (minimum 60%) with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level OR BE/B.Tech degree.

  • Ground Duty (Technical): BE/B.Tech in specified engineering disciplines.

  • Ground Duty (Non-Technical): Graduation / Post-Graduation in disciplines like Administration, Accounts, Logistics, or Education.

Age Limit (as on 01 January 2027)

  • Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years (born between 02 January 2003 – 01 January 2007).
    Relaxation: Up to 26 years for candidates holding a valid DGCA Commercial Pilot Licence.

  • Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical): 20 to 26 years (born between 02 January 2001 – 01 January 2007).

Salary & Allowances

  • Flying Officer Pay: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500 per month (Level 10).

  • MSP: ₹15,500 per month.

  • Training Stipend: ₹56,100 per month during one year of training.

  • Additional allowances include Flying, Technical, Transport, Risk & Hardship, etc., depending on posting and duty nature.

  • AFCAT Entry: ₹550 + GST (Non-refundable).

  • NCC Special Entry: No fee.

Selection Process

The IAF AFCAT selection process includes the following stages:

  1. Written Examination (AFCAT Exam)

  2. AFSB Testing

    • Stage II: Psychological Test, Group Test, and Interview.

  3. CPSS (For Flying Branch only): Computerized Pilot Selection System test.

  4. Medical Examination

  5. Final Merit List: Based on performance in AFCAT and AFSB tests.

Note: 10% of vacancies are reserved for NCC Air Wing ‘C’ Certificate holders in Ground Duty branches.
