Hooghly Cochin Shipyard Limited (HCSL) is accepting applications from eligible and motivated candidates for contractual positions of Fireman, Semi-Skilled Rigger, and Scaffolder.

HSCL Recruitment 2025 Overview

HCSL is inviting applications for 12 vacancies in various posts. Candidates applying for the Fireman post must have passed SSLC, those applying for Semi-Skilled Rigger must have passed IV Standard, and applicants for the Scaffolder post should have passed the 10th Standard. The upper age limit for applicants is 45 years. Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary of Rs. 22,100 along with additional compensation of up to Rs. 5,530 for extra work hours.

Age Limit

Age Relaxation

• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation.
• SC/ST Candidates: 5 years relaxation for reserved posts.
• Ex-Servicemen: As per Government of India guidelines (maximum limit of 50 years after relaxation).

Educational Qualifications and Experience

Fireman

• Qualification: SSLC Pass.
• Training:
  • Minimum four to six months of Fire Fighting training from a recognized institution OR
  • Certificate in Nuclear Biological Chemical Defence and Damage Control (NBCD) with firefighting experience onboard ships.
• Experience: Minimum one year in firefighting with State Fire Force, Industrial Undertakings, Armed Forces, PSU, or Private Companies.
• Desirable: Knowledge of Hindi/Bengali and good communication skills.

Semi-Skilled Rigger

• Qualification: IV Standard Pass.
• Experience: At least three years in rigging, with two years in handling heavy-duty machine parts and assisting in machinery erection.
• Desirable: Proficiency in splicing wire ropes.

Scaffolder

• Qualification: 10th Standard Pass.
• Experience: Minimum three years of experience in structural or scaffolding work.
• Desirable: Knowledge of Hindi/Bengali and good communication skills.

Contract Duration

As per the official notification, the contract will be for a maximum of five years, depending on project requirements and individual performance.

Salary Structure

• Basic Salary: Rs. 22,100 per month.
• Additional Compensation: Up to Rs. 5,530 per month for extra work hours.

Selection Process

Candidates will be shortlisted based on Practical/Physical Tests conducted by the committee.

Minimum Passing Marks:

• Unreserved & EWS Candidates: 50% of total marks in each test.
• OBC Candidates: 45% (for reserved vacancies).
• SC/ST Candidates: 40% (for reserved vacancies).
• Note: The minimum pass mark may be relaxed if a sufficient number of candidates do not qualify.

Job Location

Selected candidates will be assigned to HCSL project sites. They may be relocated to different HCSL project sites across India or abroad as per requirements.
